A quite decadent treat

The first offering of my self-declared 'Pies and Tarts Week' :)

Presenting the glamourous chocolate baileys tart...

a quite decadent treat
I took a chance and decided to go with the flow... i.e. without a recipe!

Excitement - with a significant dose of apprehension :p

I usually have a steady supply of my own butter cookies from previous bakings. Crushed and with a dollop of butter, they made a nice sturdy and buttery tart base.

Then came the challenge - how to make a chocolate filling which would remain soft, but is not molten?

The 'melting moments trial ' involved i) the accused chocolate drops; ii) the defendant against the melting charges - gelatine powder; and iii) the judge who had the Milk of human kindness.

Of course, there was a jury of very watchful eyes.

In the end, the chocolate was partially acquitted of the melting charges and, (un)fortunately, had to do time in the freezing cell.

But with its good behaviour (i.e. texture), it was released on parole and turned out to be the tart I imagined :)
